The Fish Was This Big! I Swear!

F/7.1, 1/200, ISO 320.

Canada Goose

What does a pig put on its paper cut?

Oinkment!

Interesting Fact:  At least 11 subspecies of Canada Goose have been recognized, although only a couple are distinctive. In general, the geese get smaller as you move northward, and darker as you go westward. The four smallest forms are now considered a different species: the Cackling Goose. 1. Are you sure that fish was that big … and how in the world did you eat a fish that big? Sounds fishy to me !! I didn’t know about the coloration difference in the geese. Ours are light gray with black necks. I love the muted greenish color of the water against a different hue of that same color adding gray to the mix in this goose. The feathers are amazingly striking … even the neck feathers appear individually unique. His ‘Gooseness’ standing in the middle of the ripples also mirrors the ripples in his chest feathers. On closer observation, His ‘Gooseness’ looks like he’s smirking as he tells this tall tale !! : ) Great photo … thanks for the info … I learn much from you. jan

  2. I love how you combine humour with your wonderful photos. Canada Geese are plentiful in Saskatchewan. I posted about them recently on my blog. thismademesmiletoday.wordpress.com/2017/07/04/a-whole-lot-of-geese/
