Day 166 / 365

What is the only time a man thinks about a candlelight dinner?

When the power goes off.

Interesting Fact: A form of private street lighting began in Dublin as early as 1616 when the Candlelight Law was passed, “compelling every fifth house to display a light within prescribed hours of the night for the guidance of street-users”. ( http://www.connemaracandles.ie/trivia.htm )

We were forced to eat by candle-light by Hurricane Sandy. Did you know that in real life, candles don’t provide anywhere near as much light as they do in movies?

Oh I know, I do remember that week with no power, heat and water. And on top of that in our town we had police hours no one out on the street after 10pm. Too many people were getting mugged. Thank you for stopping by. 🙂
