Bald Eagle

Day 59 /365

And I was going to stay home today!Β  πŸ™‚

Interesting Fact: Immature Bald Eagles spend the first four years of their lives in nomadic exploration of vast territories and can fly hundreds of miles per day. Some young birds from Florida have wandered north as far as Michigan, and birds from California have reached Alaska. ( http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/bald_eagle/lifehistory )

Awesome shot! I’ve been hoping to see a bald eagle here on cape cod as they are slowly re-establishing themselves along the coast here in Massachusetts, no such luck for me yet. But I will keep searching!

Thank you very much, I am really happy with the shot. I been looking for one for few months already and it finally paid off. I am sure it will pay off for you as well. πŸ™‚

The American Eagle is one magnificent bird to see. I have heard reports that there are 2 nesting pairs of Eagle’s close by here at the Lake, but never saw any. However, down to the Conawingo Dam there are lot’s of them that hang around for the fish that are always there. I did make a trip down there to see and photograph them, but found they are way out there to far for me to shoot. I don’t have a Lens big enough for that. The Dam observation area is just full of photographers all with huge Lens’s to capture them in flight. I was hoping to find some Eagles close by up in the trees, but no such luck. Some other time, maybe. ~ Les

Eagles are truly amazing. For months I been coming to that spot, but never had luck other photographers would tell me about seeing eagles. But finally Saturday was my lucky day, I could not believe my eyes. I would recommend not to give up a day will come when it will be on a tree. Thank you for enjoying my work. πŸ™‚
