Chinchilla

Day 239 / 365

A man went to visit a friend and was amazed to find him playing chess with his Chinchilla. He watched the game in astonishment for a while. “I can hardly believe my eyes!” he exclaimed. “That’s the smartest chinchilla I’ve ever seen.”

“Nah, he’s not so smart,” the friend replied. “I’ve beaten him three games out of five.”

Interesting Fact: Chinchillas see with their whiskers. Even though they have big eyes, the eyes are under developed, making the Chinchilla not see well with it. They have long whiskers which can grow half the length of their body to help them ‘see’ or rather feel things around them. ( http://chinchilla.co/chinchilla-facts/ )

  1. Not only that man rather I also have been amazed to know this fact.

  2. I’ve always enjoyed seeing the Chinchilla in pet shops. They are so soft and cuddly to hold. Guess that’s why coats were made from them, but not anymore that I know of. Kinda wondering if they make a good pet to have. Interesting facts about them.

    • Thank you very much for stopping by and checking out my work. They are super soft, and they do make a great pet if you train them right but one setback is that they sleep all day and they are most active at night. 🙂

  3. Haven’t seen one of those in a long, long time! Back in the 50s there was a chinchilla fad, get-rich-quick by selling the furs, and a lot of people bought cages and filled their cellars with chinchillas. Not very nice. I’d much rather have them as pets.
