Interesting Fact: Yorkies are a toy breed, one of the smallest acknowledged by the American Kennel Club. As with every breed of dog, there are Yorkies that are smaller or larger than the breed standard. According to “Yorkshire Terriers” by D. Caroline Coile, the record-holding smallest living Yorkie is only 3 inches tall. Because there is really no such thing as a teacup Yorkie, anyone looking for a small companion should be wary of sellers offering such dogs. A dog 3 inches high? How can that be? That isn’t any bigger than a ferret! I’m living with a Yorkie now…most reactive dog I’ve ever been around. Cute though 🙂

Cute but quite reactive, going off on dogs and people. I had to quit walking my landlady’s dog as it would go berserk lunging and barking at any dog and some humans on our walk. It was stressful for them and me. She barks at dogs at the dog park, too and chases some of them, but not as intensely. I like more friendly goofy dogs myself 🙂
I grow up with dogs most of my life and all I had was big dogs like German shapers. But they were friendly. 🙂
I prefer big dogs, too, friendly and outgoing dogs!
