Interesting Fact: The High Line (also known as the High Line Park) is a 1.45-mile-long (2.33 km) New York City linear park built in Manhattan on an elevated section of a disused New York Central Railroad spur called the West Side Line.[1] Inspired by the 3-mile (4.8-kilometer) Promenade plantée (tree-lined walkway), a similar project in Paris completed in 1993, the High Line has been redesigned and planted as an aerial greenway and rails-to-trails park. We live nearby and my husband (a tour guide – http://www.marcvillagewalk.com) grew up here. I love the High Line. The downside is it, and other changes, has changed the area into a place only the wealthy can afford.
Wow that so cool that your husband dose that. I agree High Line is amazing to visit but to live there is way too pricey and I see they are putting up more new apartments buildings. Thank you for stopping by and sharing. Happy Blogging! 🙂
Highline is an impressive was to overcome the obstacle of space when it comes to public green spaces in large cities. When I first when to it in 2013 it really left an impression.
I agree. Now it’s a lot bigger since 2013 they put a lot more work to it. You have to come back and visit. Thank you very much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. Happy Blogging! 🙂
