Black Vulture

Black Vulture

Two vultures were in the desert eating a dead clown. The first vulture asks the second vulture: “Does this taste funny to you?”

Interesting Fact: Turkey Vultures have an excellent sense of smell, but Black Vultures aren’t nearly as accomplished sniffers. To find food they soar high in the sky and keep an eye on the lower-soaring Turkey Vultures. When a Turkey Vulture’s nose detects the delicious aroma of decaying flesh and descends on a carcass, the Black Vulture follows close behind. We have these all over the place. They congregate on roofs and in trees. A weekend or two ago there were 5 or 6 together on one roof.

No problem. I have yet to get a decent shot of them but one of these days I will. Some are all black like you posted and some are bald. Ugly creatures if you ask me haha.

Yeah I agree they are not the best looking, but they are very interesting creatures. And I am sure soon you will have a great photo of them. Thank you again for your feedback. 🙂

When I was in college the science department was rehabbing a vulture in an outdoor cage, complete with dead bunnies. Talk about a stench! Not many people walked around that part of the building until it was released! Good thing the camera loves them!
