   great picture! those birds will drive you crazy, but it is pretty cool how unique wildlife and nature can be… your pics are inspiring me deeply. am “practicing” with new camera for my sojourn, and can only hope i ca capture the essence of this experience using the lens and my pens! thanks!!!

   Can you shed any light on the origin of the expression, “in the catbird seat”–an expression denoting prosperity, being in command of a situation, etc.?

     I’m sorry this is the first time I heard that expression. Not really sure what it means. But thanks for stopping by. 🙂

       To be in the catbird seat means to be in charge, to be in a commanding position, to be poised to win. Maybe people don’t use this expression anymore. It was in common use when I was a boy–but then so were chariots and cuneiform writing.
