Skunk
Day 256 / 365
Have you heard the skunk joke?
You don’t want to; it really stinks!
Interesting Fact: Skunks are legendary for their powerful predator-deterrent—a hard-to-remove, horrible-smelling spray. A skunk’s spray is an oily liquid produced by glands under its large tail. To employ this scent bomb, a skunk turns around and blasts its foe with a foul mist that can travel as far as ten feet (three meters). I’ve never seen a live skunk in the wild. It’s actually on my bucket list. I’ve smelled plenty of the dead variety. I don’t need to repeat that experience.
I am sure you will see a live one soon. They are all over they just love to hide. Thank you very much for stopping by and commenting. 🙂
It means Skunks churg chemical bombs.
Hahaha. Thank you very much for stopping by and checking out my work. 🙂
Someone who has done field research that COULD have brought encounters with skunks, I love this simple shot. I still look for opportunities to find and approach, to observe these little ones, among others. We have a household rule, that if I do get too close, I’m not driving the car until cleaned up.
I think that is a really good house rule. It’s amazing and really cool that you did the field research. One day I hope to do that as well on some animal. Thank you very much for stopping by and sharing. 🙂
Phew!!! We drove past a fresh skunk road kill once – I swear the smell lingered for at least 2 miles, that’s a long time to hold your breath 😥
Hahaha that is a long time. That smell is pretty bad. Thank you very much for stopping by and checking out my work. 🙂
That’s very true! You don’t want to pull his finger!
No you don’t. Hahaha. Thank you very much for stopping by and checking out my work. 🙂
Haha…fell for that one via my uncle many times.
But each time…strangely different.
Hahaha. That funny. Thank you very much for stopping by and checking out my work. 🙂
