Great Blue Heron
Day 273 / 365
What holiday is observed by all birds?
Feather’s Day!
Interesting Fact: Great Blue Herons aren’t likely to visit a typical backyard. However, they are sometimes unwelcome visitors to yards that include fish ponds. A length of drain pipe placed in the pond can provide fish with a place to hide from feeding herons. Herons, like most of our birds, are legally protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. We have a grey heron that visits our garden and pond every day. I just let it do what it wants to do as between it and the Otters, there’s plenty for everyone.
Wow that is amazing, I wish I had all of them coming to my backyard. Thank you very much for stopping by and checking out my work. 🙂
Always pleasure to read your narration and enjoy the beauty in the photograph.
Thank you very much. 🙂
Thank you very much, and I always happy to see amazing comments that bright up my day, like yours just did. 🙂
I walk on water a lot. Usually in January, though. I remember a Blue Heron in Portland, Oregon. It used to go right up to fishermen and demand bait. If refused, he would steal some.
Wow that is amazing that must of been quite of a show to watch. Thank you very much for sharing your awesome experience with us. 🙂
