Great Black-backed Gull
What do you call a seagull when it flies over the bay?
A bagel.
Interesting Fact: This is the largest gull in the world. Its broad wings and powerful appearance give it a regal look that have impressed naturalists for years. In the words of one early observer: “It surely seemed to be a king among the gulls, a merciless tyrant over its fellows, the largest and strongest of its tribe. No weaker gull dared to intrude upon its feudal domain.” ( https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Great_Black-backed_Gull/lifehistory )
WHAT? is the second from left

I worked on a large river paddlewheel boat on the Detroit river. Gulls were everywhere. If you don’t see them up close, they look OK. But up close and dealing with them? They are flying rats.
That said, it’s still a great pic. I just hope they’re just standing there thinking about what they’ve just done!
Bagel? Another positive BOO for yoo!
Thank you very much, I appreciate your feedback and interesting experience with the gulls. I know they get annoying if you have food on you. Thank you again for stopping by and sharing. Happy Blogging! 🙂

I love these birds….i wonder if they are same as our pacific gulls…they appear to look the same.
They do look very similar to the pacific gulls and I am sure they have a lot of similar features. Thank you very much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. Happy Blogging! 🙂

I like “bagel.” Give me another one. It’s so good and makes me laugh! We watch a lot of nature videos. I particularly fascinated by the dancing birds when they serenate the female birds. I couldn’t get my eyes off every move they make. BTW, thank you for liking my newest post. I read it to my husband before I posted it, especially about how far down he dived.
I am glad that you enjoyed my post. Thank you very much for stopping by and sharing with us. Happy Blogging! 🙂
We just came back from a 10-day vacation in Spain. This is my first day back to my blog. I read you “bagel” to my husband, he had a good laugh also. Thank you.
