Peafowl

Did you hear the story about the peacock?

It’s a beautiful tail.

Interesting Fact: Peafowl are forest birds that nest on the ground, but roost in trees. They are terrestrial feeders. All species of peafowl are believed to be polygamous. In common with other members of the Galliformes, the males possess metatarsal spurs or “thorns” on their legs used during intraspecific territorial fights with other members of their kind. 1. We once rented a place in TX in the country and there were around 30 peacocks. The owner was supposed to catch them but kept putting us off. When the cops came to my door because my here if peacocks were walking down the middle of the road stopping traffic it was time for them to go. The owner had to come at night and catch them while they foisted on the trees. I do have t o admit though we had no snakes or other small preditors on our place and the mating r ritual is really funny
