I came across one of the PAWN Art Work. Pawn is a muralist residing in Jersey City that specializes in freehand aerosol graffiti and street art themed work. For nearly 15 years, Pawn has been mastering his craft. Pursuing his passion to leave behind a body of work that the public can freely view, enjoy, and gain inspiration from. Interesting Fact: The word graffiti comes from the Greek word ‘graphein’ which means ‘to write’. Graffiti was first found on ancient Roman architecture, although back in them days there was no such thing as spray paint, they calved images out on walls. It is a perfect night for watching the moon, or mooning, that can be fun too. ( Ha Ha Ha ) 🙂

This photo of Jarek Polatynski at Empty Sky Memorial really makes me wonder what was going through his head as he was looking at all the names on the walls.
Interesting Fact: The memorial includes twin walls, transecting a “gently sloped mound anchored by a granite path that is directed toward Ground Zero.[2] Two 30-foot-high rectangular towers stretch 208 feet, 10 inches long — the exact width of the World Trade Center towers, the proportion of the walls a symbolic representation of the buildings as if they were lying on their sides.[2] The name of each of the 746 victims is etched in stainless steel in 4-inch-high letters. A granite passage is oriented to face the site of the twin towers.[2][3] The name of the memorial is taken from the Bruce Springsteen song “Empty Sky“, which is about the “empty sky” where the towers once stood. This actually caught my eye as I was leaving down town Jersey City. People always say keep looking ahead, well I say look all around you, because you never know what you will see.

This is a photo that I took last year while visiting a memorial for 9/11 downtown Jersey City. Words do not do it justice. Today lets all stand together and pay tribute to the ones we lost. You will not be forgotten- instead you will live in our hearts forever.
Interesting Fact: The Tribute in Light is an art installation of 88 searchlights placed next to the site of the World Trade Center to create two vertical columns of light in remembrance of the September 11 attacks.
