Interesting Fact: The species is endemic to the island of Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic), including the adjacent Saona and Gonâve Islands, where it is common and widespread. It inhabits areas from sea-level to 1500 m asl where palm savannas can be found, or other open areas with scattered trees. I’ll toss you a wooden one. My mother was fond of using the Australian saying, “Too late she cried as she waved her wooden leg.” Said to someone if they were too late with something. The implication is that she should not have crossed the railroad tracks at the moment. An obscure saying that you have to be in the know to get it.
Palmchat is not on my life list.
