Coyote

What do you say when you meet a talking Coyote?

Howl about that?

Interesting Fact: Coyotes are smaller than wolves and are sometimes called prairie wolves or brush wolves. They communicate with a distinctive call, which at night often develops into a raucous canine chorus. ( https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/mammals/c/coyote/ )

  1. Coyotes are news here in our suburb of Los Angeles nearly every day. There’s a lot of open, protected brush land along the coast, and coyotes have been multiplying (as they are practically everywhere in the U.S., apparently). Lots of stories about pets being consumed. Not certain how many — if any — of those reports are bona fide. We’ve encountered one coyote, right at dusk on a trail near the ocean bluffs. Startling to see an animal that large (there are no native deer or other large mammals other than pesky humans, which are also multiplying at an enormous rate).
    An excellent photo.

    • Oh wow that is very interesting, over on the east coast we don’t come across them that often. Now that I think about it I haven’t ever came across one here, I see bears every once in a while but not coyotes. Thank you very much for stopping by and sharing your story with us. Happy Blogging! 🙂

  2. After seeing coyotes here in my backyard in the Tampa Bay Area I looked them up and discovered that they are so adaptable that they live everywhere. And your photo shows what I discovered also, they are chameleons, blending in with the background so well that I wonder how often they are there but we don’t notice them.

    • I am sure they are really good at observing and hiding. I took this photo in New Mexico and over there people see them everyday in the morning and the evening. So they are out there. Thank you very much for stopping by and sharing your story with us. Happy Blogging! 🙂

  3. From these comments, it seems animals are on the rise. Should we really wonder why, after we’ve been very bad conservationists in their interests? Great photo, as always, and I enjoy your accompanying facts and humor to the utmost !

    • Thank you very much, I am really glad that you enjoyed my post. Also I appreciate you sharing your thoughts with and we have been bad. Stay Safe and Happy Blogging! 🙂
