Interesting Fact: Loons shoot through the water like a torpedo, propelled by powerful thrusts of feet located near the rear of their body. When their quarry changes direction, loons can execute an abrupt flip-turn that would make Olympic swimmers jealous: they extend one foot laterally as a pivot brake and kick with the opposite foot to turn 180 degrees in a fraction of a second. Great action shot of the imminent demise of a little fish. I am always intrigued by the difference in the color of the water in your various photos. Wonder what triggers them?
Thank you very much for taking an interest in that. What triggers the difference in colors of the waters are actually few different factors. I shoot in different times of day, different weather conditions, different body of waters and different parts of the world. For example this photo was taking in Rhode Island on a very cloudy day the water looked semi green in the shadows but kind of grey from the clouds. You can tell closer to him when the shadow is dropping it is on the green side. I hope that answered your question and Happy Blogging! 🙂
