American Coot
Can February march?
No, but April may.
Interesting Fact: The American coot is a highly gregarious species, particularly in the winter, when its flocks can number in the thousands.[20] When swimming on the water surface, American coots exhibit a variety of interesting collective formations, including single-file lines, high density synchronized swimming and rotational dynamics, broad arcing formations, and sequential take-off dynamics. Love your posts. May you continue to March on.
Hehehe I sure will. Thank you for your support and Happy Blogging! 🙂
I spent a summer studying coots in BC. They engage in another interesting behaviour – nest parasitism (laying their eggs in other coots’ nests) … crazy coots.
Wow that is so awesome that you did so. Thank you very much for stopping by and sharing your story with us. Happy Blogging! 🙂
