Northern Cardinal ( Female )
My neighbor is really into music.
Even his driveway is hard rock.
Interesting Fact: Many people are perplexed each spring by the sight of a cardinal attacking its reflection in a window, car mirror, or shiny bumper. Both males and females do this, and most often in spring and early summer when they are obsessed with defending their territory against any intruders. Birds may spend hours fighting these intruders without giving up. A few weeks later, as levels of aggressive hormones subside, these attacks should end (though one female kept up this behavior every day or so for six months without stopping). Hi. The other Cardinal you have in another post is red (beautiful pic, btw). Is it because it is male, or just a different kind of Cardinal?
Thank you very much for stopping by and taking an interest. To answer your questions it is the same cardinal but the red one is a males. Happy Blogging! 🙂
This happened to us while we were in South Dakota and now it makes so much sense! It was relentless in its attack against itself in our truck window.
Oh wow, that must have been some site. Thank you very much for stopping by and sharing your story with us. Happy Blogging! 🙂
I was studying photos on Google Saturday of cardinals
And…I needed to see how the eye related to the distinctive black on its head. I was making a quilted cardinal Christmas block for a pillow. Then yesterday I thought it needs to be a pair, and went in search of images of a female. Now I am trying to find just the right fabrics to give my red cardinal a mate. Love your photos and the jokes I can tell my grandkids! !
Oh wow, that’s amazing, you should definitely post the photo of it when you are done. I would like to see it. Thank you for sharing with us. Happy Blogging! 🙂
