Interesting Fact: Researchers studying Least Sandpipers discovered a new feeding mechanism. While probing damp mud with their bills, the sandpipers use the surface tension of the water to transport prey quickly from their bill tips to their mouths.     Sounds like you picked up a Dad joke there today. It was Father’s Day here on Sunday so they’ve been flying around here a bit lately. I wonder how the Sandpiper feel about being “least” and not the “greatest”?
