Interesting Fact: The Bald Eagle has been the national emblem of the United States since 1782 and a spiritual symbol for native people for far longer than that. I get excited when I see one when visiting family in the US. It’s like spotting a native UK raptor which is under threat because of persecution by the grouse shooting community. Only l don’t think bald eagles are persecuted in the US. As a national emblem they must be protected and respected.
They were almost extinct so they were under protection, but the population is growing because I been seen them quite often in the past few years. Thank you very much for stopping by and sharing your thoughts with us. Happy Blogging! 🙂
I was fortunate enough to handle a bald eagle last year and it is one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had. There is a nobility and wisdom about these birds that is theirs alone. Your photo is spectacular!
